As the largest chrome ore producer in Turkey the Group’s subsidiary Eti Krom supplies chrome to its sister ferrochrome plants in Turkey and Sweden. Any excess chrome ore is easily sold mainly to China thanks to the high brand reputation. Furthermore, the chrome ore production subsidiary in Kazakhstan, Voskhod Chrome, provides raw material to our ferrochrome plants in Russia and Sweden. Voskhod could supply chrome either to chemical plants in Russia and Kazakhstan, or to ferrochrome plants in China.
In the Kef mine in Elazig, owned by Eti Krom, Turkey’s first mechanized mining project was implemented in 2018. The goal of this project is to produce 400,000 tons of additional chromite annually. Eti Krom’s Waste Recycling Plant’s installation was finished in the third quarter of 2018, which is the newest product of the Group’s zero waste policy and innovative ecosystem.
